Barwon Sports Academy 2024
​
Geelong Baycats is continuing their partnership with Barwon Sports Academy (BSA) to offer membership for selected male and female athletes to join the BSA program in 2024.
To be considered for selection in this program, players must:
• be members of Geelong Baycats Baseball Club
• be aged 13, 14, 15 or 16 in the year 2024* depending on a number of factors, we could extend this age bracket beyond age 16.
• be aspirational in terms of their goals for themselves as players (eg: have a vision of participating in State or National representative teams, play College or Professional baseball in the future)
• demonstrate a positive attitude towards training and playing
• demonstrate a commitment to improving themselves as players
• demonstrate a commitment towards athletic and personal development, including participation in relevant education sessions detailed above
Selection process:
1. Applications submitted via the BSA online application by the due date. Application can be found: https://www.barwonsportsacademy.org.au/baseball
2. Advisory panel meet to consider applications
3. A decision made on the successful applicants for 2024 intake
4. Letter sent to both successful and unsuccessful applicants. This will include
the date and venue for the Induction evening in the first week of February
when all details of the program will be shared.
Note:
• Athletes will need to have submitted their applications to the Academy by Monday 27th of November 2023
• The BSA Induction night for 1st year athletes will be held Monday 5th February 2024 and you will receive notification through an acceptance email/letter
